According to The Athletic, Leeds United's total price of £12 million has once again quoted Newcastle midfielder Longstaff.
TA said Leeds United are actively seeking to sign midfielder Longstaff from Newcastle, and the newly promoted team has submitted a quotation of £10 million plus £2 million additional terms, the third offer for the 27-year-old. Leeds United has not received a reply from Newcastle yet, but this is close to Leeds United's limits. If Longstaff's transfer fails to take place, Leeds United will consider other candidates.
Longstaff's personal terms have been reached and his contract with Newcastle expires next summer. As a youth training player, Longstaff hopes Newcastle will receive a transfer fee instead of risking losing him for free next summer. The Athletic reported on June 10 that Leeds United has identified Longstaff as a firm goal to supplement strength and experience. Longstaff has made 171 appearances in the Premier League, and his top-flight experience is very attractive to Leeds United.
