Van Bommel was recently visiting talkSPORT radio. He revealed that he had contacted the Glasgow Wanderers coach this summer.
Van Bomel said: "I did have some contacts, but I did not negotiate directly with the Glasgow Rangers board. It is the home court of the Dutch, with many Dutch players, and of course (former coach) Edvokat."
