Have you ever thought about a question: Why are there so many stray dogs on the streets?
The cost of abandonment is too low!
You can keep a dog if you want to, but if you don’t want to keep a dog, just take it to a strange place and let it fend for itself. This is the true portrayal of many pet owners in China. Anyway, if they abandon their pets, they will not suffer any punishment or loss, but let the whole society bear the consequences for them, and let other pet owners bear the infamy for them.
Fortunately, I recently saw a story about Chao Jie Qi, which allows us to see the attitude of countries with animal legislation towards abandonment. Only by seriously dealing with abandoned animals can we fundamentally control the problem of stray animals and return a trace of warmth to the world.

The story takes place in Brazil. At the beginning of the year, an online surveillance video ignited the emotions of shit-scratchers around the world.
In the video, a Brazilian woman drove her car to an intersection, opened the back seat door, and jumped out of a black dog. Then she took out a white dog with obviously abnormal limbs from the car.
The next scene made everyone angry. The woman drove the black dog back to the car. The white dog, whose limbs were disabled and could only move like a kangaroo, jumped and tried to get back into the car, but was pushed away by the woman. While the white dog fell to the ground, the woman drove away.
The disabled dog cannot even run and catch up, and can only wander in place at a loss.
I don’t know if it was luck or misfortune, but what happened next was even more suffocating. It turns out that the place where the woman abandoned it was not somewhere else, but the place where the male owner went to work. Not long after, the helpless disabled dog saw its male owner who was off work, and the male owner carried it into the car.

However, the male owner did not take it home, but drove to another place and abandoned it again.
Being abandoned twice in a row in one day, from meeting the male owner to being abandoned again by the male owner, I don’t know how the disabled dog felt, but people who saw this probably felt the same as me. He was so angry that he exploded on the spot!
What is this? Because the dog's limbs are disabled, it is difficult for the dog to stand up. It has no ability to live in the wild. Such abandonment is tantamount to murder.

Fortunately, kind-hearted people nearby discovered this dog that had been abandoned twice by its owner and promptly sought help from the local animal protection organization. When volunteers found it, it was huddled against the wall and shivering.
Volunteers brought it back to the shelter, named it TinTin, and posted its story online, hoping that someone could give it a warm home.
Finding an adopter for a disabled dog is originally a very difficult task, but perhaps out of sympathy for TinTin’s plight, the shelter received many applications to adopt TinTin. However, the staff said that TinTin’s situation is quite special and it will take more effort to take care of her. Therefore, they will strictly screen the applications received to ensure that they can find a warm new family for TinTin.
Now, with the efforts of volunteers, TinTin has a very loving new family. The members of the new family love it very much, accompany it attentively every day, and take it on trips together. TinTin finally has a long-lost smile on his face.

As for the original owner who abandoned TinTin? You must know that abandoning a dog is illegal in Brazil. At present, the police have found all kinds of evidence and charged TinTin’s original owner with animal cruelty. Once found guilty, the original owner will face three months to one year in prison and a fine.
This ending made many netizens express their anger.

There are many reasons for abandoning a dog, but you must be decisive when abandoning a dog. In the eyes of many people, abandoning a dog that is "no longer cute", "too annoying", "really useless"... is a way to end the problem once and for all and never cause future troubles. They have never thought about the harm such behavior will cause to dogs and the impact it will have on society.
It is very helpless that our country does not have clear laws and regulations to punish this kind of abandonment.

You must know that many people do not think clearly about the responsibilities that raising a dog means before raising a dog. Maybe it was when I was watching a short video and I thought "Wow, this dog is so cute", maybe it was the overflow of love for a while, "This dog is so pitiful, give it a home", maybe it was the sudden whim of "It's too boring to be alone, let's get a dog"...
After getting the dog back, I discovered that raising a dog is not as easy as imagined, at least not as easy as abandoning it.
It is urgent to strengthen the sense of responsibility of abandoned dogs through legal restrictions. I think those who always think about throwing away dogs may only think twice before facing severe punishment.
