There are market rumors that the US government has approved NVIDIA (Nvidia Corp.)’s export license to supply chips to the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Bloomberg reported on the 9th, citing sources familiar with the details, that the Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) under the U.S. Department of Commerce recently issued an export license to NVIDIA in accordance with the terms of the bilateral AI agreement signed with the United Arab Emirates in May. This is the first license issued since US President Donald Trump took office to allow NVIDIA AI chips to be exported to the United Arab Emirates.

A U.S. official said that BIS approved the application only after the United Arab Emirates proposed a specific plan for equivalent investment in the United States. People familiar with the matter revealed that the first batch of export licenses issued by BIS did not cover any supply of G42 chips. G42 is cooperating with OpenAI to set up a campus in the capital of the United Arab Emirates.
