Due to the reduction in the key parts "NAND Flash (NAND flash memory)" and the reduction in supply, the price of solid-state hard drives (SSD) rose by 5% in July-September, and the rise in two quarters, and the demand for AI servers is stable, and the price is expected to continue to rise from October-December.

News reported on the 5th that the SSD price has continued to rise due to the reduction of NAND Flash's large factory and the reduction of supply. The wholesale price of TLC 256GB (block transaction price) for the July-September 2025 SSD index product TLC was set at about US$33.3 per unit and the larger capacity was around US$62.4 per unit. Both rose by about 5% compared with the previous quarter (April-June 2025), and the prices were both in the continuous quarter 2. SSD is used for PC, server and other purposes, and is used to store data for a long time. The wholesale price is finalized once a quarter for memory manufacturers and buyers.

The report pointed out that the continuous increase in SSD prices is mainly due to the reduction of key parts NAND Flash. NAND Flash will influence the SSD market, and due to the sluggish demand for products such as smartphones, NAND Flash manufacturers continue to reduce production and supply. The Ministry of Electronic Products Merchants pointed out that "the rate of some large factories has dropped to about 60-70% of the peak period."

Reporting, due to the stable demand for AI servers, SSD prices are expected to continue to rise after October to December.

In addition, the price of hard drives (HDDs) continues to rise. HDD manufacturers and clients will conduct price negotiations every quarter, and the wholesale price of index products finalized in July-September 2025 rose by 1% compared with the previous quarter (April-June 2025). Among them, the price of 3.5-inch 1TB, an index product used for desktop computers and other purposes from July to September was around US$51.0 per unit, up 1% from the previous quarter, and continued to rise in the second quarter; the price of 2.5-inch 1TB, an index product used for computers and games, was around US$48.4 per unit, up 1% from the same period, and continued to rise in the second quarter.
